Automotive Lighting’s new LED intelligent light system provides daylight quality exceeding the xenon performance and adapts automatically to the driving conditions.
LED Intelligent Headlamp
Depending on weather conditions, traffic situation, course of the road or driving speed, the intelligent light system cares for the optimum road illumination covering an area of up to 4.600m².
The main highlights of this light system are: glare free high beam, camera supported night vision via infrared diodes and the safety function of the pulsed marker light.
Powerful and Intelligent
The main components of the headlamp are two all LED projector modules – both conceived to emit the low beam and complementing each other in terms of forming of the cut-off line and in terms of the light distribution.
One of the modules, the base light module is powered in its basic function by 8 LEDs for low beam and provides wide road illumination creating a 49 meter broad carpet of light. Doing so, it realizes the horizontal cut off line. Additionally, it supports with other 4 LEDs the high beam of the second module: the swiveling adaptive module. Powered by 4 LEDs, this module realizes the asymmetric cut off line and guarantees a 145 meter range in the low beam. Furthermore, it implements the adaptive light distribution: For example, the motor way light is activated when the constant driving speed exceeds 90 km/h. The Adaptive High Beam Assistant Plus function provides the so called glare free high beam allowing the use of high beam without dazzling the preceding or oncoming traffic.
Traffic safety in the spot
A mentionable safety related function of this headlamp is the curve light: Ranging from 15° outward and 7° inwardly, it illuminates the course of the road – according to the driving speed, the yaw rate and the steering angle. Driving at low speed with the turn indicator switched on leads to activation of the static bend light for illuminating the corners and narrow curves.
Another highlight of this light system is the infrared high beam generated by the Infrared-Diodes (IRED). The use of night view cameras enables an easier detection of pedestrians on the roadside. To increase their safety, the recognized pedestrians are shortly lighted up by the marker light. All adaptive light functions are activated when the light switch is in the automatic modus.
